Rose of Tralee Rachel Duffy today departed for India where she will spend the week volunteering with The Hope Foundation and see first-hand the day-to-day struggles of the children living on the streets and in the slums of Kolkata.
HOPE works with the most vulnerable street and slum children and their families. HOPE operates over 60 projects in Kolkata providing access to education, healthcare and training programmes.
HOPE works with Kolkata’s forgotten children, those who have been victims of trafficking, violence, abandonment, prostitution, abuse and severe neglect. Working with such vulnerable children and their wider families and communities, has lifted millions out of poverty, enabling and empowering them to build a brighter future for themselves and for future generations.
