Jeppe Rasmussen, Partnerships Manager CRITICAL
The emergency medical response charity CRITICAL has announced the appointment of Jeppe Rasmussen as Partnerships Manager. The position is a new role for the organisation which has a growing network of volunteer doctors and responders in communities across Ireland.
The role involves working with the corporate and business communities, public and private grant makers, foundations, major donors, and other funding bodies. The charity relies on corporate donations to fund its life-saving work and offers a range of sponsorship opportunities for companies of all sizes. Several companies have selected CRITICAL as their charity of the year for 2023 and the organisation is interested in speaking with potential new partners.
Jeppe Rasmussen has extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector and previously worked with the Danish Red Cross in his native Denmark. He also co-founded an agency providing campaign development, coaching, workshops and digital fundraising for Scandinavian charities.
He moved to Ireland in 2019 and set up his own business consulting with Irish charities and providing a range of services. He worked with Cork Simon for two years as Partnerships Manager before joining CRITICAL.
Micheál Sheridan, CEO of CRITICAL said, “We’re delighted to welcome Jeppe to our growing team. His appointment comes at a very important time for the charity as we are establishing a network of Volunteer Emergency Medical Responders across Ireland. Our aim is to have teams of doctors and medics in cities, towns and villages in every county in Ireland. There are highly skilled people living and working in our communities and we can provide them with the equipment they need to be able to respond to life threatening injuries, illnesses and incidents. However, our work is entirely funded by donations and fundraisers and Jeppe’s role is to develop relationships with businesses, communities and members of the public.”
Jeppe Rasmussen added, “I am honoured to be taking on this role at CRITICAL during this pivotal moment in the organisation’s growth. As the number of Medical Emergency Responders increases and the organisation expands its presence throughout Ireland, I am eager to collaborate with businesses and groups to achieve CRITICAL’s mission of empowering communities across the country to save lives. The involvement of local and national businesses is critical to our success, and I am committed to fostering strong relationships with our current partners while also cultivating new ones.”
CRITICAL has a strong network of Volunteer Emergency Medicine Doctors in Mayo, Donegal, Dublin, Wicklow and Waterford and will be expanding to additional locations in the coming months.
The charity is also welcoming off-duty EMTs, paramedics and advanced paramedics from the National Ambulance Service to its teams. The volunteers will be provided with Emergency Backpacks enabling them to respond to road traffic collisions, cardiac arrests, farming accidents and other medical or traumatic accidents in their communities.
It costs €1,500 to provide the equipment for each off-duty paramedic, €25,000 to establish an Advanced Level Doctor and €120,000 to put a new Critical Care response vehicle on the road.
