New ‘Your Puppy Toolkit’ Offers On-Demand, Expert Training for Owners with Puppies Aged 8 Weeks to 12 months.
New puppy owners across Ireland may delight in the wagging tails and snuggles— but another reality for many is chewed shoes, toilet accidents, and sleepless nights. Now, a recent Dogs Trust survey reveals that owners feel time is one of the key obstacles to successful puppy training.
Over 1,000 owners surveyed by Ireland’s leading dog welfare charity highlighted time as one of the biggest issues impacting them when it comes to puppy training, with 30% of puppy owners surveyed citing this as their biggest stumbling block.
To support new puppy owners, Dogs Trust Ireland has launched their first digital training platform, ‘Your Puppy Toolkit’ to help build good habits from day one—whenever and wherever they need it.
Available on-demand, this mobile-first training resource provides a variety of resources, including quizzes, helpful infographics and short, practical video lessons on common issues reported by puppy owners, alongside a progress tracker to help owners stay on track. Designed to fit into busy schedules, Your Puppy Toolkit is available starting from €60.
“Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming,” says Amy Synnott, Head of Training and Engagement at Dogs Trust Ireland.
“While these furry balls of fun bring so much joy, they also come with the reality of chewed furniture, endless zoomies, and toilet training. That’s why we’ve designed this toolkit to be flexible, supportive, and based on positive training techniques.
“Your Puppy Toolkit supports this by providing structured, expert-led learning that fits into the unpredictability of everyday life. It helps owners build habits and strengthen bonds—without the pressure of finding extra hours in the day,” she added.
“Instead of attending a single weekly class and trying to remember everything, this toolkit allows owners to absorb information in small, manageable chunks and apply it immediately,” Ms Synnott concluded.
With 93% of past Dogs Trust traditional Dog School participants reporting that their training goals were met, and 91% saying they’d recommend it –Dogs Trust knows that expert guidance works but also understands that it’s hard for owners juggling busy schedules to commit to in person classes and learning. ‘Your Puppy Toolkit’ was developed to remove that barrier—allowing owners to train at their own pace, on their own schedule.
